About Anxiety forums

  • Anxiety is something we can all feel, at times. However, some people face significant impact in their lives because of anxiety.
  • Our Let’s Talk Anxiety forums raise awareness of anxiety disorders, destigmatise the conversation about anxiety and encourage people to seek help.
  • The forums are an opportunity for people to come together in their community, learn more about anxiety and connect with their local Mental Health services.

What’s in a WayAhead
Let’s talk about anxiety forum?

  • Our forums typically run for approximately 3 hours.
  • A clinical psychologist talks about types of anxiety disorders, signs, symptoms, interventions and strategies.
  • Lived experience is a key element of our forums so we include an address from a person living with anxiety and a person caring for someone with anxiety.
  • Local mental health services outline how their programs and services assist community members.
  • There’s ample opportunity to ask questions of our speakers as well as discuss issues, challenges and experiences in small groups.
  • A refreshment break is included- people can move around the room and talk with the Mental Health service representatives present
  • WayAhead provides a brief overview of our programs, Mental Health Information Line, Anxiety Support Groups and Small Steps seminars.
