Let’s talk about anxiety in The Hastings – 25 August 2022

We heard from Mark McGrath from Carer Gateway at Port Macquarie as well as our keynote speaker, Dr Rocco Crino, clinical psychologist. Local services also included, headspace, Neami National, Lifeline, Carer Gateway and Carers NSW attended to meet the community.

Let’s talk about anxiety Albury – 16 June 2022

We heard from Nicole from headspace Albury with ‘Hendrix’ from Therapy Doggo as well as our keynote speaker, Dr Rocco Crino, clinical psychologist, who provided some key information about anxiety disorders and answered questions. The community of Albury heard more about their local mental health services including Gateway Health, headspace, Head to Health, Albury, One Door Mental Health and Wellways New Access Program (for people with anxiety).

Let’s talk about anxiety Wollongong – 25 March 2022

Our keynote speaker, Dr Rocco Crino, clinical psychologist presented to the community at Wollongong. Wollongong local services presented including headspace Wollongong, Neami Wollongong, Flourish Australia, One Door Wollongong and Illawarra; ARAFMI Illawarra, Wellways New Access, Grand Pacific Health.

Collective Purpose Online Anxiety Support Group

The Collective Purpose group will not be meeting on 28th December and in January 2023

WayAhead’s Collective Purpose Online Anxiety Support group is run by Paul every second and fourth Wednesday at 6pm.

If you would like to attend this group please register here

Our online groups are usually comprised of a small number of people who come together over Zoom to share personal experiences and information in a safe, friendly and supportive environment.

All WayAhead support groups are free of charge.

When?Every second and fourth Wednesday at 6pm – see calendar

IMPORTANT – This is not a treatment group. It is a place where people who are impacted by anxiety can give and receive support related to living with and managing their anxiety. It is facilitated by trained volunteers who have a diverse range of experiences but who are not qualified health professionals. As such, this group is not suitable for people with high levels of mental distress which may be associated with psychosis, severe depression or active post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We recommend that you do not attend this group if you are experiencing high levels of distress as it is unlikely that it will able to meet your needs.

Anxiety disorders are common in children and young people.

This talk will provide you with the latest information from the experts about anxiety in young people, what it looks like and what you can do about it.

Anxiety can seriously impact young people’s  lives but is treatable. Professor Ron Rapee from Macquarie University’s Centre for Emotional Health will share his knowledge and provide an opportunity to ask questions.
